New Jersey: Tuscan Bistro Bar

I’ve been to this restaurant twice already and I can’t get enough.  The food was amazing both times I went, and it was consistent.  I can’t wait to go back.

The Tuscan Bistro Bar is located at 1250 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ 08753

They have hours that go until 2am and they have specials everyday.  For instance, on Thursdays, they have BOGO Prime Rib!  They also have different events/entertainment.

For our starter, we got the Rice balls.  You have the option of Marinera or Vodka sauce.  We tried it both ways each time we went, and both are amazing.  Inside is rice and peas and cheese.  There are no words to describe how delicious it was when I first tried it.  It was the first time I ever had a rice ball too.  None other can compare.  I’ve tried rice balls at other restaurants and it just wasn’t as good.

For my dinner, I ordered the Chicken Lemon Butter.  I asked for it over penne pasta and to add the same lemon butter sauce over the pasta.  Served with capers and garlic.  The chicken cuts so easily and was very juicy.  You can tell the ingredients are fresh when you take your first bite.  The sauce is more creamy but still very delicious and one of my favorite dishes.  I love Chicken Francaise but this is much better.

Prime Rib cooked medium rare.  It was cooked perfectly and it cut so well into the meat.  It was fresh and a very nice cut of meat with very little fat.  Even the sides were perfect.  The green beans were just right, not too hard and not mushy.  The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious.  Tasted a little like it may have had some sour cream mixed in.  All around, very well made dish and can’t wait to try again.

For dessert, to close our palates, we ordered the Fried Banana with walnuts and vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.  There is cinnamon on top with a caramel drizzle.  It’s just the right amount of sweet and not empowering.  Very sinfully delicious if you like bananas!

If you’re interested in a drink, they have an assortment of beer at the bar, and wine.  I ordered Margaritas on the rocks with salt on the rim and they were perfect every time.

Also, if you have children, I believe they have a station where your kids can make their own pizza.  It’s a personal sized, kids’ pizza.  It was quite adorable watching them stroll back to their tables with their small trays of pizza.

Near the front entrance, they also have a sitting lounge area with a firepit that seems very cozy.

It’s non-smoking indoors.

The staff was super friendly every time I’ve gone as well and accommodating.

Parking is in the front, side and rear but you can only enter through the front.

This is a place you definitely need to try once, but trust me you will go back more than that!  Hope you all enjoy and happy eating!
